About the magazine
DYNA was founded in 1933 by a group of students and teachers of the National School of Mines, which played a key role in Colombia’s enterprise development.
Its main objective is to make known to the scientific community, both national and international, the results of the research projects carried by members of the School of Mines of Medellin, or any other similar institution. Most of the papers are related to civil, mines, metallurgic or systems engineering, as well as geology.

INTRODUCTION

Our economy relies on the intensive use of mineral resources, which are the base of production processes. Sustainable management of those finite resources is one of the strongest demands of nowadays society. This requires the participation and cooperation of many public and private agents that can be grouped in three main categories:
  • Mining administrations
  • Enterprises
  • Professionals
The International Conference of Sustainable Mining main object is to get the agents of the international mining community together so they can debate and exchange experiences in the area of sustainable development applied to mining activities.
